The phone screen illuminated her face in the dark corner of the room.
She sat there contemplating different possible scenarios of what to be sent.
The silence countered the loudness of her inner voices echoing in the void of her mind. She wondered the possible responses.
“Hey, I know I haven’t messaged you in over seven years, but I have a lot to say. Unresolved feelings if you could say that. I am sorry I lied to you, left you in silence, and endless stories of misinterpreted past lives.” said the girl in the darkness.
“You don’t know me.” The light illuminating from the window was countering the darkness within him.
“I feel nothing towards you but hate and resentment.” Said the man laughing out loud as the message loomed on the screen mocking him.
“LOL” was the only response he could fathom to send as the series of messages from the girl continued as an endless stream on his phone.
“Don’t you have a girlfriend? What is the obsession, are you breaking into my house? Why did you break my bike brake, did you bruise me in my sleep? Why did you leave?” wrote the girl in a manic frenzy.
“Meow.” was one of the last messages sent by her, alongside an apology.
“I am sorry I messaged you I was having a mental break.” Were the last words sent, the screen finally erased to a blank black, reflecting the agony on her face.
